What is social justice? Social Justice is to be united. When people work together to get something done. For example, people united to get what they wanted in this neighborhood. They wanted a school so they went on hunger strike. They succeeded in getting our school built. People of the community wanted this school to be built because they wanted a safe place for the kids to go to school. They needed more schools around Little Village so that kids could get their education. Social justice is fairness.
What obstacles do we face while struggling to achieve social justice? An obstacle is something that blocks you from getting to your goal. Some things that get in the way of social justice are other people who are against fairness. Other examples are racism and sexism.
What is your vision for struggle? My vision for struggle is working hard and getting to the goal. Some examples are hunger strikes, protests, marches, boycotts. All of these things are people struggling to have fairness or social justice.
What is your role in the struggle? My role is to work hard to succeed and to be a better person in life. My role is also to be a student and to learn.
